MICHAEL TAYLOR
For State Representative
Like so many others, Mike decided to come to Chester County to start and raise a family in a well-run, low tax community. In 1999, newly married, Mike and his wife made the move from Media, Delaware County to Uwchlan Township. Now, 21 years later, the Taylor family, four members strong, still proudly call Uwchlan Township, Chester County their home.
Mike’s path to Uwchlan Township started in Ridley, Delaware County, where he and his 2 sisters attended Our Lady of Fatima parochial school. From there, Mike’s parents found a way for him to attend Archmere Academy in Claymont, Delaware, where he graduated in 1991. Thereafter, Mike attended and graduated from Boston College in 1995. As an undergraduate, he double majored in Economics and Political Science. From there, Mike was accepted into the Temple University School of Law and graduated with his juris doctorate degree in 1998. He passed the Pennsylvania and New Jersey bar exams later that same year. While in law school, Mike was a member of the Temple Environmental Law and Technology Journal. He also assisted individuals with financial difficulties by volunteering with the Consumer Bankruptcy Project.

As a newly admitted attorney, Mike began his practice of law representing injured clients seeking compensation for their injuries. This work included representation of injured members of the local federal railway unions. This work had him standing up to well financed businesses, agencies and hospitals. He also volunteered legal service to the Support Center for Child Advocates in Philadelphia, where he provided court appointed legal representation to the city’s most vulnerable children.
With plans for starting a family, Mike desired a law practice closer to home. So, in 2001 he moved his legal work to Paoli and then Chester Springs. During this time period, Mike had the high honor of serving 6 years as a Hearing Officer for the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. As a hearing officer, Mike was charged with evaluating attorney conduct and making recommendations on attorney discipline. In 2013, Mike decided to open his own law firm looking for a way to provide more effective, attentive and economical legal services.
In addition to volunteer efforts in the legal community, Mike also serves as a committee person for the Uwchlan 8 precinct and as Treasurer for the Area 25 Republican Committee. He volunteers time with youth sports through LYA and CYO.
Mike and his wife are blessed with a son and a daughter who are both students in the Downingtown Area School District. The Taylors are parishioners of Saints Philip and James parish and members of the local YMCA. You can often find them at their children’s various events or simply walking the neighborhood with their 9-year-old beagle, Leroy and 8-month-old Cockapoo puppy, Moose.
In placing his name before the voters of the 155th legislative district, Mike is looking to represent all the people and communities of the district with a reasoned approach. Issues affecting Uwchlan may differ from those of Phoenixville or West Brandywine; but for each, Mike pledges to study the issues carefully and provide a rational response and a well-voiced leadership that will benefit those living in the heart of Chester County today and for years to come.
